Praying for our community in the fight against drugs

My heart aches and I pray daily for our community and especially our children. This drug epidemic is heart breaking and so many families are broken. I was pleased to attend the CASA town hall meeting last month and join all concerned on this issue.

I want to share that my church, Living Word, on Lake Shore Drive is having a season of prayer for the community. It is every Thursday in August from 7 to 8 p.m.

Parents, family members and friends are invited to come to this prayer group and be comfortable letting their feelings known. There is no judgement or shame, just understanding and love.

Please join us as we pray for our community in this fight against drugs and on all issues.
