WEST MILFORD ‑ Students, teachers and administrators in West Milford will return to school next week.

The 2017-2018 school year begins Thursday, Sept. 7.

While some parents, students (and some teachers and administrators) lament as the last days of summer vacation seem to come and go by quickly, others are doing a happy dance in West Milford, as they gather their supplies, shop for new clothes and get ready for the first day of school.

The first reporting day for staff is Tuesday, Sept. 5.

A “Professional Development Day” for staff on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Students will report to their assigned schools for their first day on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Summer AssignmentsSummer assignments can be found listed by grade level or course on the district website’s home page,, “What's Happening” “2017-2018 Assignments.”

Schedules and Bus PassesSchedules and bus passes should be printed out before the first day of school. They can be accessed though the Realtime System on the district's website.

Go to “For Families” “Parent Portal”/”Student Portal.” While there, check to make sure all emergency contact information is up to date, and take a moment to answer posted questions from the district such as the “Acceptable Use Policy Agreement” so students may have access to the school’s digital technology equipment and software.
