There's nothing more scary than facing down the fury of Mother Nature.

In that light, local students are banding together to produce a Halloween-oriented event that will raise funds for hurricane victims.

The 1st annual West Milford Spooktacular will be presented by the West Milford High School's Student Council and Macopin Middle School on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Tickets are $8 per students; parents and preschoolers are admitted free.

A "Trunk or Treat" will take place from 4-7 p.m. in the high school seniors' parking lot.

"Haunted Halls" is set for 5-8 p.m. at Macopin Middle School. At dusk until 10 p.m., Halloween movies will be shown in the teachers' parking lot. Attendees should bring chairs and blankets.

There will be entertainment, music, food, beverages, ice cream, pie and, of course, candy and scary fun.
