Midget Football has another great weekend

This week the Rumble Team, which is made up of kindergarteners through second-graders, took on The High Point Hawks, beating them by a score of 19-6, according to coach Matt LaNeve.

Touchdowns for the Jr. Highlanders were scored by Luke Maslanek, Mason LaNeve and Jayden Mericka.

Mason LaNeve also scored an extra point. The defense played their best game of the season. The Rumble team improved to a 5-0 record on the season.

The Pony team, which consists of second- and third-graders also played the High Point Hawks.

Coached by Mike Czerepak won by a score of 21-0. Touchdowns in this game were scored by Griffin Buntzen, Jeffrey Papienuk and Nicholas Triverio.

Ryan Sarkisian and Nicholas Triverio scored extra points and Connor Thompson caught an extra point from Quarterback Cole Czerepak. Ayden Adams led the defense in tackles. The Pony Team improved to 4-1 on the season.

The fourth- and fifth-graders who make up The Super Team Beat Wallkill Valley 16-14. Coached by Dan Platt , the team also posted an 80-yard touchdown run by Danny Platt and a 4-yard touchdown run by Jake Kelshaw. The defense played an amazing game with two safeties lead by Brett Provenzano and two interceptions by Austin Miller. The Super Team improved to 4-1 on the season.

The Midget Team, coached by Ralph Turri, beat Wallkill Valley 35-6 at McCormack Field on Saturday night.

The eighth-graders played with a great team effort on both sides of the ball, LaNeve said.
