WEST MILFORD – Ebeneezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and Jacob Marley will come to life once again this holiday season thanks to the West Milford Players.

The company is currently rehearsing Michael Paller’s adaptation of Charles Dickens classic holiday story, “A Christmas Carol.”

The production is scheduled to open on Nov. 30 and run for two weekends, Friday through Sunday, until Dec. 9.

The shows are scheduled to take place at the Macopin Middle School, 70 Highlander Drive, with Friday and Saturday show times of 8 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

"It's such an honor and privilege to be playing 'Scrooge,' one of the most famous and iconic characters in literature, as well as the man who created him, Charles Dickens - considered by many to be the greatest writer in English literary history,” actor Dann Pryce said. “'A Christmas Carol' was the first great Christmas story, and is the most adapted novel of all time. Who hasn't seen some version in some form? It's just not Christmas without it, and its message still holds true today."

The adaptation takes place in Dickens’ London home on Christmas Eve in 1843.

Friends and family request a story from the author and he obliges with the condition that the attendees take parts in the tale.

Fifteen cast members take on a total of 40 different parts in the production, Stage Manager Audrey Russelman said.

"It's a joy to watch our performers bring this to life- the kids especially amaze me with their talent,” Russelman said. “But it's not just entertaining to be a part of this kind of story, it's also necessary. The reason this story lasted through the years is because of its constant relevance."

Rich Aherns and Stan Saja are sharing directing duties on the production and Ashley Pietrzak is handling the make-up.

Joining Pryce, who plays both Dickens and Scrooge in the play, are Mark Herrmann as Scrooge’s nephew, Fred, Martin Pfefferkorn as Jacob Marley, TJ Cook as the young Scrooge, Justin J. Roth as Tiny Tim, and Ashley Czeczuga as Belle.

Other cast members include; Skylar Locke, Ariana Roveda, Olivia Terese Stonaker, Patty Loud, Lynn Scott, Diane Barcheski, Mac McCormick, and Lisa Dascoli.

Tickets are available online at www.thewestmilfordplayers.org.
